Post subject:  Creating an indicator with a value to be optimized..

With regards to this thread, viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5970&start=0 , I was wondering if there is something I have to do to create a custom indicator that will show it's values in the 'custom fields' box in SB. Currently when I import the custom indicator it just has the name of the indicator in the custom fields box and no editable values.

Not sure I get your question. When you import any indicator it will show as "indicator name",value1,value2... where value1 are the values of the indicator variables. If you want to optimize for that value you will change it to "indicator name",variable,value2...
If you use the indicator builder you cannot optimize because it only expose the name

Well that's what I was asking, is there a way to optimize when using an indicator built with IB?

As I said:

We allow variable creation on the version for MT5 - we need to do the same for the MT4 version but have to finish the beta, then launch a product, and then we will work in the indicator builder for MT4
