Post subject:  Logic for defining peaks and troughs

Hey there, hoping someone can share some ideas on how to best define peaks and troughs in price action. The closest thing I can think of is to use the highest/lowest of last 'x' amount but this becomes invalid if there's more than 'x' amount of bars between the high/low and current price.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Can anyone suggest anything for me here?

Just to clarify, I'm looking for something that will define peaks and troughs that have already occurred. I'm not asking for the impossible of defining peaks and troughs as they happen.

best thing to do is to find good support and resistance indicator that uses buffers to match with SB and it will do the job you want.
