creating indicator in indicator builder or strategy builder

Hello, I would like to create an indicator as a visual aid that simply shows whether an existing indicator increases or decreases from one bar close to the next.
(This could be applied to any indicator, but my interest initially is in Moving average of oscillator OsMA.)
My thoughts were histogram above 0 axis if indicator increases from previous bar close, histogram below 0 axis if indicator decreases from previous bar close.
(the idea is to avoid having to read the values from the data window when the move on the screen is not obvious)

Can this be done using the indicator builder or do you have to use strategy builder?
I can see how to create the equation in the indicator builder, but not how to make the distinction between positive and negative values etc

Any help or pointing in the right direction would be appreciated, I have minimal experience with the software at present

Use the indicator builder. Create a calculation equal to indicator shift 0 - indicator shift 0. Positive numbers for that indicator is what you want.

Will a histogram plot both negative and positive values from a formula in Indicator Builder?

It plots the values from the indicator formula (usually + and -). To control the sign you need to use the absolute value
