hi,
I've recently bought the technical indicator builder (standard version) and I want to integrate my custom indicator into the strategy builder. However, I can't import it because there's only the .ex4 file in the indictors directory. What should I do?

For standard versions of the indicator builder you need to enter the info manually
When you generate the code in the indicator builder, it shows the signals to be used. Those numbers are the mode.
Go to the strategy builder, select custom indicator, under custom fields write the indicator name i.e for ATR5, write "ATR" , for mode use the one shown in the indicator builder during the indicator generation

A problem occurs during the backtest: no trade are executed and it is writtren:
"Cannot open file 'C:\Program Files\MetaTrader - Finexo\experts\indicators\ test.ex4' on the EURUSD,M1"
Why? I have checked into MetaTrader/experts/indicators and I can see the "test.ex4"

That is a backtesting issue not related to our software but to where the files are located.
Was the indicator compiled with the same mt4 version? Recheck that it's in the right folder.

Are you using win 7? If that is the case read this (originally wrriten for mt5 but also applies for mt4)
•Usually your EAs are located in C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5\MQL5\Experts However, in certain Windows versions, MT5 will look for the EA in C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\D0E8209F77C8CF37AD8BF550E51FF075\MQL5\Experts\ D0E8209F77C8CF37AD8BF550E51FF075 is a randon name that changes on every installation. This feature is called Windows Roaming. Issues may arise because the files at C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5\MQL5\Experts and at C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\D0E8209F77C8CF37AD8BF550E51FF075\MQL5\Experts are not synchronized. This is a windows issue out of our control. If this happens, you may have to copy the EA files manually from C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5\MQL5\Experts to C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\D0E8209F77C8CF37AD8BF550E51FF075\MQL5\Experts A solution to this issue is to create the EA file in the MetaEditor and copy the code from the Expert Advisor Visual Wizard.
