I have viewed your manuals and read the forum but still dont know how to make the macd and stochastics work.
I have Strategy Builder and Technical Indicator Builder and need guidance.
The last two conditions for my strategy are :
To execute a BUY, both indicators must be bullish =
* Stochastics, %K line is above %D line
* Macd line above signal line
To SELL, both indicators must be bearish =
* Stochastics, %K line in below %D line
* Macd line below signal line
I would really appreciate your assistance to use your tools.
hi there.... try this!
FOR THE MACD.TA1 = MacD Main Shift0 ---- Higher Than ----- MacD Signal Shift0
TA2 = MacD Main Shift1 ---- Lower Than ----- MacD Signal Shift0
if this condition is too tight for you then for TA2 change that Shift1 to 2.
FOR THE STOCHASTICS. (the tricky part)
For a start please use slower stocahstics for exampe 15/5/5. I doubt it will work if you use stochastics 5/3/3. But you can try.
I normally do not use any which ever line crossing the other. I have tried this many times but failed. I'd rather just choose one, the Stochastics MAIN line OR the Stochastics SIGNAL line. Lets say I choose SIGNAL. Then this is what I do.
TA3 = Stochastics SIGNAL Shift0 ----- Lower than ----- 60 (User Define Number)
TA4 = Stochastics SIGNAL Shift0 ----- Higher than ----- 40 (User Define Number)
TA5 = Stochastics MAIN Shift0 ----- Higher than ----- Stochastics SIGNAL Shift0
TA3 and TA4 will capture your Stochastics in a very very tight spot.
FINE TUNING.I do not know what are your MacD settings. But when the MacD Main crosses higher over the Macd Signal this is what you do - DRAW A LINE ALL THE WAY DOWN THE SCREEN. Take a pen and paper and note down the Stochastics Signal Level. DOES THE LINE YOU JUST DREW DOWN THE SCREEN CUTS INTO THAT VERY TIGHT SPOT I MENTIONED? You need to zoom in to see.
If it is in that tight spot means your TA1, TA2, TA3 and TA4 are in your logic. TA5 is just an added support.
So does the price go up? Does your logic work?
If the price do not go up do not change your logic. Adjust the Stochastics level. From 60/40 you may want to try 55/35, and so on.
Or better still instead of MacD Main crossing over Signal you might want to experiment with MacD Main crossing horizontal line - 0.000, not Signal.
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT.You are POSITIVELY on the right track my friend. Put tons of hours into this and I'm sure a few months down the road you'll get it.
