I read you post of an exsample of a simple EA. I am trying something very simialer. I would like the EA to only buy/sell when the difference between the two MA are say 8 or more. How would I program the two TA's do do that ?

The easiest way is to create a new indicator with the technical indicator builder equal to ma1-ma2 .. then use the strategy builder evaluating the condition.

Can I do this in the demo version ?

In the Indicatorbuilder, I click the TI. Fill in the data, then I click indicator (my ma1) then I click minus then indactor again (my ma2). Have I got this right ? ma1 - ma2

Yes you can do it with the demo version. Pay attention to the modes.
Do not plot on top of the currency chart since ma1 - ma2 gives lower values than the currency price - use the separate graph option
