Backtests!

Hello!

I wonder if you have a better program to do a backtest because the MT4 by my results do not go into precise operations scalp and can even be misleading.

If anyone knows please share the information!

Good point. MT4 backtesting will give you an approximation - which is good for higher time frames.
You cannot do backtesting for scalping since the historical info only have the open, close, high and low price. For scalping you need all the prices in between.
We have not found a separated tool to do it. Also, you also need the prices to do it but mt4 brokers won't give you all tick info

How do I do that? Where is this place that I can configure to open, close, high and low?

For scalping you need all the prices in between the open and the close. MetaTrader does not give you that for backtesting. The best thing mt can do is give you 1 min prices. Try those.

Again, there is no way to get a reliable backtesting for scalping eas in metatrader

I wonder how do I do backtesting. Can I leave the fields in the currency pair TA Symbol - Current Symbol and Timeframe - Current Timeframe? Is it okay to test this way?

Yes.

FYI... there is now free generic tick data for several years available if you search hard enough.

Using current symbol is better since you can backtest the ea for any pair. You should replace current symbol with the pair only when you use 2 or more pairs in the same ea
