Hello
Is there somewhere in Molanis that I can import a custom indicator that will exit the trade if it goes below / above an established trendline? Will the program recognize values in an ongoing trendline?

If the values of the trend line are saved in buffers in the indicator you can import it into the strategy builder. Most trend lines indicators show the trend line because they are visual indicators and lack the part to integrate it with an ea. You need to find one that has that part.

I'm not much of a programmer, so I don't know everything about this. I did notice that the zigzag indicator only shows values in the data window of MT4 at the points it connects with, but not points along the line. So i take it this is what you mean by a trendline benig a visual indicator but does not give values along the line.

I know there are eas that draw trendlines. I will try to find one and import it to see if this works. Is this what you mean?

Yes, try to find an indicator that draws and gives you the signal for the ea

I don't see Zig Zag in the indicator list in Strategy builder. It only displays a value when a new point is made, but not points along the line in-between, similar to a drawn trendline as you have indicated.
But that new point being made is still useful in programming a potential entry or exit.
Is Zig Zag included with your indicator list or will it be on your next release possibly?

Thanks

We won't include it - zig zag works fine on paper and looking after the fact. In reality the normal zig zag re draws the last 3 bars which is challenging to use when getting reliable signals. Maybe if you find a zig zag modified that does not repaint you will get better signals.
