Custom Indicator .exe file does not expose it's variables

Only .mq files.

If you mean, the import process for custom indicators does not work for .ex4 you are right. The import process is only for .mq4 files since the builder has to read the code and understand it. The builder cannot do that with .ex4 because those files cannot be read.
The workaround is to do it manually. Looking at the indicator inputs in mt4 and trying to identify how the indicator works. It is doable but requires time and to try several times.

If so, why not cmpile the CI to .mq file in the first place?
