Could you offer some direction on how to set the HA indicator in the TA? Obviously what I want is to change directions (from BUY to Sell or Sell to Buy) in my EA when the HA changes colors.

There are many versions of that indicators. We did an example here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=708&p=2481&hilit=heiken#p2481 - there we took an indicator an added code to improve it and use it with an expert advisor
What you need to understand is that indicator is built using many signals - you see normal bars, but behind the scenes there are many signals.
