Post subject: | How to use indicator with MA applied |
Hello Everyone, Here is a screen shot of Standard Deviation indicator with a moving average applied to it using "previous indicato'rs data" select in the "Apply to:" field (red line is the MA): Attachment: StdDev-50MA.JPG [ 34.45 KiB | Viewed 28082 times ] Attachment: PID.JPG [ 24.74 KiB | Viewed 28042 times ] Does anyone know the best way to use this indicator with the MA applied to it in Strategy Builder. Can I do this in in SB itself? Can I build this in Technical Indicator Builder? Do I need to have a custom indicator built for me? Please point me in the right direction. Regards |

That option only works directly on mt4. To do the same you need to rewrite the indicator to do that calculation, and then import the indicator in the strategy builder |

Can I do this with your indicator builder or do I need to have a custom indicator made by a coder? |

You need a coder to use this http://docs.mql4.com/indicators/imaonarray That command calculates the ma of an input - so you need to make the indicator the input |

Sorry forgot one thing Yes you can use the indicator builder if you want the average of an indicator. You use the advanced option Average (similar to ima on array). |
