Hi MolanisFX,
During the compilation process, MolanisMT5 EA wizard announced that MetaEditor.exe and MQL5.exe were missing. MetaTrader64.exe and MQL564.exe were in the MT5 folder. When I experimentally copied and renamed these files to MetaTrader.exe and MQL5.exe the EA was created in the correct folders but was not visible in MT5 (after reload) but windows explorer showed the ex5 ea. What's the fix? I was testing with LiteForex.
Thanks.
BA

The easy solution - do not install mt5 in program files.
That Windows version have some security settings - see http://www.molanis.com/products/expert- ... visors-mt5
•Usually your EAs are located in C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5\MQL5\Experts However, in certain Windows versions, MT5 will look for the EA in C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\D0E8209F77C8CF37AD8BF550E51FF075\MQL5\Experts\ D0E8209F77C8CF37AD8BF550E51FF075 is a randon name that changes on every installation. This feature is called Windows Roaming. Issues may arise because the files at C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5\MQL5\Experts and at C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\D0E8209F77C8CF37AD8BF550E51FF075\MQL5\Experts are not synchronized. This is a windows issue out of our control. If this happens, you may have to copy the EA files manually from C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5\MQL5\Experts to C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\D0E8209F77C8CF37AD8BF550E51FF075\MQL5\Experts A solution to this issue is to create the EA file in the MetaEditor and copy the code from the Expert Advisor Visual Wizard.

Hi MolanisFX, Your reply did not quite answer the question and please correct me if I'm wrong.
During the directory setup MolanisMT5 EA wizard announced that MetaEditor.exe and MQL5.exe were missing.
The same error message when I attempted to designate the roaming path for EAs.
Are the names of these files the same in MT5? I am testing with the trial version.

Thanks.

I did answer the question
Quote:
MetaTrader64.exe and MQL564.exe were in the MT5 folder. When I experimentally copied and renamed these files to MetaTrader.exe and MQL5.exe

That is the right solution. Windows 64 bits adds 64 to the name so what you did is the right solution

the EA was created in the correct folders but was not visible in MT5

the other explanation answers this question
