Is it possible to adapt the Forex Signals Wizard to produce an alert which works on a range bar chart, i.e. one with no timeframe? Each candle is completed once price has moved a particular number of specified pips (eg 10 or 15), regardless of the time since completion of the last candle.

I've tried simply using the setting of 'current timeframe' but although the EA attaches to the chart and has a smiley face, no alert signals are produced. On a normal timeframe chart the EA produces correct signals.

If this isn't possible then presumably its also not possible to use the strategy builder to produce an EA that will work on a range bar chart?

To create range charts, people use offline charts.
In mt4 offline charts are not designed for trading. They are designed to show information.
Most of the time, indicators work in offline charts. Depending on how the chart is created and updated (prices used creating it) you could use an ea.
The signals are created by an ea so they may not work in the offline chart.

If you have the code for the range bar (the mq4 not the ex4) post it and we could take a look.
